The artwork shows a worship scene of three gods. On the left stands the god with mace: in a hat with horns, wearing short clothes, and holding his mace at the waist. Facing him are two standing goddesses, in horned tiaras and long, flounced robes. The first raises one hand in respect, the second clasps the hands at the waist. A combined lunar crescent and star (for the moon god and Ishtar/Venus) appears in the sky and a horned quadruped with forked lightening (symbol of the storm god Adad) is placed in front of the god with mace. A three line inscription in Cuneiform names the ancient seal owner: Ipiq-Sin, son of Erib-Sin, servant of (the god) Adad.
This is an Old Babylonian seal, c. 1900-1600 BC. It is in good condition and is a nice example of the classic work of its period.
