Though wearing little more than feathered earrings, this man radiates a serene human dignity. He sits lost in contemplation: his eyes are open, but he seems focused on some point in the infinite distance. Centuries ago, he may have drifted into a reverie from which he has yet to awaken. Is he even aware of the vastly changed world in which he now finds himself? In the presence of such a figure, we are reminded of the need for introspection, of quiet times spent alone with our inner thoughts.
