This elegantly shaped bowl was once a necessary component of daily life in the Ancient Zacatecas culture. It was most likely a utilitarian bowl, yet its decorative design is clearly aesthetic in nature. The exterior design, divided into four sections, combines both geometric and floral forms. The rendering of the design is somewhat playful; even whimsical. We can almost imagine the artist as he skillfully painted the elegant brown lines across the surface of this timeless bowl.
