The elegance and grace of the swan have fascinated artists for thousands of years. In the Classical world, the bird was often associated with Aphrodite, goddess of love; and it was as a swan that Zeus appeared to the lovely mortal Leda. Ancient Corinth was famous for its luxurious style of life, and its delicate pottery was prized throughout the Mediterranean world. This superb and rare homage to one of nature's most gorgeous creatures continues to delight us after all this time.
