Delicate wisps of grey-white hair spiral down her cheek to meet the ornate gold decoration on the moss colored cape that covers her venerable form. The woman reveals to us strong and spirited qualities in her sage-like amber eyes, strong cheekbones and prominent chin. Her hooded head hearkens us back to medieval visual iconography, whereby the image of a covered head signified one's invincibility over death.
