Created from seashells and sand, like Venus rising from the sea, the maiden in this painting is at one with her environment. Flowers, plants and seaweed are all part of her image. Her hair ripples like waves and the rhythm of her body is like the rhythm of the sea. Her arms seem to stretch through the sands of time. a giant shell is a fan-like background for this beautiful maiden who is so much a part of the glorious underwater world.
