The face on this immensely powerful figure captures our attention, with an open mouth giving us a smile. She seems to be laughing at a secret that only she knows. This jovial figure looks at us tenderly, and we immediately notice how docile she is. Multiple ear ornaments adorn her youthful face, and bracelets lay high on her slender arms. There is a rapid movement over this statue, due to the curvilinear body parts. The legs twist slowly under this woman's body. Recognizing that this work of art suggests the cherished concept of womanhood, it is a delightful representation of a fertility goddess used in rituals. In addition to her nose ring, the jewelry she is adorned with signifies her importance in the fertility ceremonies. Her arms seem to rest on her stomach, suggesting that she is delighted to be pregnant. This breathtaking piece powerfully represents this culture's ideals through symbolism and composition of form.
