This vessel has a Jicara (pear-shaped gourd) body; the rounded bottom is encircled with a flange above that the neck splays slightly. The main body of the vessel is supported by three hollow conical, slightly out- turned legs. At the top of these legs are seated appliquéd clay men, they are modeled wearing headdresses and with their hands resting on their chests. The body of the vessel is painted with attractive red and black slips, whilst the legs and figures are left matte. This piece would have had funerary significance, and we are prompted to speculate on these guardians of the tomb.
