Standing with both fear and anger in his eyes, this magnificent terracotta figure holds a severed head in one hand and an axe in the other suggesting that he is a warrior of some kind. There is no actual decoration on the body except for the shoulders, where there seems to be some scarring. The most descriptive decoration is on the face, which has distinct reptilian features. The snarling mouth shows the sharp fangs, while the sharp, expressive eyes gaze down along the heavily decorated nose. The head is also decorated with applied decoration that includes a small pinnacle at the top of the head. If his intention is to scare, then the artist was indeed successful with his work.
