The design of this vessel is indeed very original, with both the creativity of the artist and the ritualistic interpretations of the culture. The entire vessel is elaborately decorated including the neck, which is painted into panels. The centerpiece is a face with highly realistic eyes that protrude from the red eye sockets and a snarling mouth, which bears the teeth. Decorative geometric detailing was created on the cheeks, around the mouth and eyes. With this form of detail, it is indeed possible to see that it would have been a crucial part of an important ritual activity for the community.
