Exquisitely created, this bowl had miraculously withstood the test of time and remained a beautiful piece of art that we are able to enjoy to this day. Its brilliant red-orange slip makes it the center of any ceremony of which it would have been a part of. The well-designed tripod legs are also rattles, with small clay balls inside. This would have added to its presence during the ceremonial procession. The designs on this vessel are predominantly geometric and remain on the exterior of the vessel only. The actual legs are anthropomorphic, resembling guards who are trying to protect the contents of the vessel. With all these components in mind, this tripod vessel is indeed a work of art, portraying a vital tapestry of history.
