The jaguar in the Ancient art of Costa Rica became a symbol of power, strength and agility. Its form can be found in a multitude of style, including in the form of a vessel. The deep and rich colors accentuate the elongated torso and the elegant curve of the tail that assists in supporting the actual vessel that is resting on the back. The molded structure adds vivacity to the painted design, combining geometric precision and sculptural fluidity to form a perfect combination. The rattle within the piece, allows all the senses to play a role in examining this charming piece, thus connecting the vessel and the viewer together in a bond that has been able to withstand the test of time.
