A fantastic mask captures our attention immediately. The mask consists of an alligator-like snout and coffee bean eyes with eyebrows. Perforated edges surround the entire mask with circles placed at each corner. The mask and tall headdress are painted white. Beautiful, ornate designs are incised on the front and back of his body. Weapons, most likely a spear and axe, are held in each hand. This fabulous warrior-shaman wears elaborate leg gear comprising of circles similar to the ones found at the corners of the mask and wide, thick lines. This vessel combines the powerful forces of artistic ingenuity with ritual imagery. The entire composition is a little fierce and imposing. Such an extraordinary vessel certainly belonged to a person of high rank and authority in society.
