This Chinese glass vase or urn is richly decorated with stylized motifs of foliage and phoenixes in relief, in the manner of carved rock crystal. Protruding dragon heads embellish the top and the bottom of the vase. The lid is in the form of a truncated pyramid surmounted by a dragon. Apart from rock crystal, similar examples can also be found in objects made with other materials, such as cast bronze, and dated to the same period.
