An extremely gracious and rare cast glass vessel in the shape of a duck. The glass is of an impressive clarity and it has been decorated in the style of carved rock crystal vessels. Cast in the shape of an archaistic duck hollowed to form a vessel with a lid, the deep compressed body shows details in relief of a stylised plumage, on which the head sinuously lies. Vessels of similar form can also be found made of jade; for example see one illustrated in Zhongguo yuqi quanji, op. cit., pl. 37.
