Of a cylindrical form and standing on a stem, this elegant cast glass beaker is decorated with geometrical motifs in relief. The glass is colourless and resembles the purity and brilliance of rock-crystal. The vessel is in great conditions, with no sign of damage of the material and the glass does not show any signs of pitting or iridescence. Similar cups are found in other materials, such as jade, rock crystal and sometimes wood, which were finely carved and incised with comparable motifs and which provided the inspiration for the creation of this beautifully executed piece of art.
