An extremely fine quality example of a clear cast glass vase. Shaped by mould, the piece is elegantly decorated with mythical figures in high relief, three of these serve as feet for the vase. The figures of mythical birds, possibly phoenixes, elegantly decorate the vessel's lid, adding splendour to the object. The artist who created this piece was inspired by the ancient Chinese bronze and hard-stone vessels and wanted to re-interpret these traditional forms exploiting the clarity and malleability of glass.
