The artist has created an intense work of art in which there are beautiful geometric patterns. The intertwining curvilinear shapes surround the vessel, which creates a lavish decoration. These shapes are repeated on the back of the vessel, and may have symbolized the coexistence of life and death. The almond shaped eyes on this grayish brown effigy vessel watch us, at the same time that the nostrils are open to smell the air around. This vessel is personified in order to show the majesty it represents. The neck of this vessel is a crown, distinctly placed on the effigy's head. The ridge above the eyes is probably a symbol for majesty, a higher level of life and power. There is an overwhelming sense of power and dignity felt within this work of art.
