Clearly, this canine friend has given the old, wizened woman a gift of overwhelming consequence. Now she must decide her fate...keep this precious gift and live forever, like no other mortal, or willingly accept the ultimate finiteness of her life on earth. We watch her face and search for clues as to her decision. What choice would we make, given this opportune gift from the pet.
