The widely agape mouth of this small huncback suggests that he is lost in a drug induced trance. Perhaps because they were well aware of the imperfections of this world, and as such the hunchbacks of Ancient Meso-America were revered as holy men and were chosen to search for a more perfect spiritual realm. In such a place they may have imagined themselves free of their worldly burdens.
