Painted in a pale orange slip, this beautiful vessel shows a person of high status in the tribe. The geometric decoration is simple, yet explains to us the importance of this person through the tattooing and the jewelry which he wears around his neck. Partially clothed, he sits with his hands on his thighs, expressing strength and power. A style of banding surrounds the upper portion of his head as well as the opening at the top. The vessel would have probably contained a type of liquid, either for an offering or for a more social function. The face itself has great character. The mouth is slightly rectangular the nose is painted in a dark red slip, as is the mouth, the eyes are simple, circular decorations, with heavy eyebrows directly over them. No matter where this object may have been placed, it would have been a center of attraction and would still be today.
