In Sagi's dramatic painting “Rebirth” we observe a woman giving "rebirth" to a new life, to new beginnings. Her old life has been pain and suffering, as seen in the expression on her face. Yet her new life, with the baby symbolizing life, will be very content, as evidenced on the baby's serene face. The woman is giving rebirth in a river, the river of life--like life itself is a river, with its roaring rapids and its calm streams, all too soon to came to an end.
