Throughout the ages, fertility symbols have been an important part of life all over the world, as if it were part of a common ground between us. This figurine is one such example. Though simple in its anatomical design, it is nevertheless correct and prominently shows the female genitalia. She sits in front of us, with her legs outstretched and her hands placed comfortably on her hips. Her polychromatic colors are subtle earth tones, connecting her with mother earth. Her jewelry is simple, only earrings and bracelets around her arms and a headpiece. Though many fertility figurines initially look the same, with closer observation, it is clear that each and every one is unique, providing help or comfort or solace to whoever has her in their possession. For many, such a figurine was the key to a happy and fruitful life and perhaps even today, it creates the idea of happiness and indeed, even luck.
