This zoomorphic amulet has been obtained by skilfully carving rock crystal. The details of the animal's face are engraved in low relief giving depth to the artifact.

The Achaemenid Persian empire was one of the largest empires of the ancient time, extending from Anatolia and Egypt across western Asia to northern India and Central Asia. The Achaemenids produced luxurious objects, and among the most prestigious there are rock crystal vessels.
