This tablet has a total of 24 lines of Sumerian cuneiform on obverse and reverse, also cylinder seal impressions both near the end of the reverse and on upper edge, lower edge and left-hand edge. It is dated to the reign of Sin-magir, king of Isin in southern Mesopotamia, c. 1828-1817 B.C. The exact year of the reign cannot be settled because of the year name given is hitherto unknown, and there is no list of year names of this king extant.

Translation:

4 acres of land cleared? of bulrushes, in the Girgilu estate, land of Adad-rabi, adjacent to (land of) Sin-eribam, Ibin-Ea and Nur-ahishu:
8 shekels of silver were weighed out as its full price. Sin-eribam purchased it from Adad-rabi.
In the future Adad-rabi and as many heirs as there may be may not claim the land. He swore by the king.
In the presence o Dada, son of Ili-tapp Ahushunu, son of Sin-iddinash Sin-ennam, son of Ayabb Ipqusha, son of Ali-pa-i Nabrum-ili, son of Rish-ilu
Month: Abu, year: Sin-magir dug the Ninkarrak cana
Seal inscription: Adad-rab son of Aday

The tablet is in very good condition, having only one small spot or damage at the obverse bottom right-hand corner.

Description and translation kindly provided by Professor W. G. Lamber
