The painting on this bowl is kept to a minimum. A black wavy line, no doubt symbolizing water, decorates a band along the upper rim. The lower body of the bowl is adorned with three monkeys. Their stomachs take the form of two concentric black rings from which their swooping tails, heads, and limbs extend. Their bright red buttocks can also be seen protruding just below their tails. Red paint is also utilized to highlight their lips and the ring around their eyes. They extend their arms forth as is trying to catch each other racing along the bottom of this bowl. Although this bowl is quite simplistic, it was found buried in a tomb. No doubt it was as essential in this world as it was in the afterlife.
