This rounded, footed bowl is particularly unusual because it sits on a slant, so that the head effigies are more prominent. It is made from red colored earthenware that has been covered with a red waxy slip. Appliquéd to the front of the bowl are two male head effigies, with incised features. They both wear headdresses and have holes for earrings; the features are incised and resemble aged men with creases on their faces. The mouth rim of the bowl has been thumbed and the crescent shaped foot, incised. The double heads are reminiscent of the Greek masks of comedy and tragedy. This bowl is an unusual and highly decorative insight into the lives of these ancient peoples.
