The broad legged seated male has a wide, flat head, which is wrapped in a colorful turban. The face is doll-like with slit eyes surrounded by large black lined ovals. His earlobes are shaped as if for ear ornamentation. The body painting is of an interlocking mat pattern. This figure would have been cast in a mould and is of hollow construction. The intricate painted details may represent clothing, tattooing, or body painting. These stylized seated figures continue a long tradition, which goes back to the earlier Galo polychrome figures, and show the great craftsmanship of the period.
