Created with a beautiful black slip, this vessel is indeed a memorable and striking piece. The design of this pear shaped vessel, is that of a woman. One hand is placed one her leg and the other stabilizes the vessel. However, the arm is rather contorted, making it appear that she has a deformity. The lines around the eyes seem to show that she is an older woman. Her pointed breasts, her arms and legs are all highly ornamented with geometric designs. On her head rests a simple flat hat that is etched. Her feet rest on a pedestal of some kind that supports the vessel primarily. The vessel is extremely unique in design and displays the ingenuity of the artist at that time. Though it is indeed easier to copy or replicate a work, this artist decided to create his own masterpiece, and in doing so created apiece which has surpassed the boundaries of time to become a rare and stunning piece.
