With majesty and grace, this incredible female figure gazes outward at us. She is robust and strong. The artist has magically sculpted her facial features. Her skin is taunt and reveals her high cheekbones and prominent jaw line. Such an aquiline nose suits her regal disposition. Full lips are parted and painted red. The red that appears on her lips is the same red that appears around her eyes. The intricate black designs on her face could represent a language within itself. Her profile is equally as beautiful as her face. Her hair is immaculately cut and kept at the back above her broad neck. Large round earspools adorn her ears. Her entire body is painted with esoteric design patterns that may have very important ritual meanings. The contours of her legs and arms are abstract. The artist has created very thick and spacious limbs that allowed him to utilize the space for designs. Her breasts are very pronounced and have a dot pattern painted on them. Perhaps this is the symbol of fertility, of rain that nourishes the crops and of the milk that nourishes the newborn. The abdomen area is covered with a "cross-hatched" design. This is the place where all human creation takes place. She may represent the fertility of lands and creation of humanity. She is certainly a goddess in her own right. We may find ourselves more attuned with our own gods and goddesses within us as we share in her sacred, majestic spirit.
