Two nearly identical and beautifully modeled figures are attached to the sides of this vessel, their legs pulled tightly under at the base and their arms stretched back behind their heads. Each is naked except for a striated loincloth, their cheeks are decorated with bands of a snake-like pattern against white, appliquéd eyes stare with intensity, on the wrists are thick white painted bracelets edged in black. The body of the vessel is bulbous sloping down to the flaring pedestal. The neck is wide with an averted mouth rim to which the upper portion of the figures' headdresses is attached as handles. On both sides is an unusual design in white composed of a circle with connecting squares, bordered by triangles and two extensions at top and bottom. Such an elaborate vessel as this one would probably have been used for ritual purposes, or a treasured part of a wealthy person's household items.
