These beautiful coins take us into the realm of the great powers that once ruled most of the known world. The Roman Empire was filled with proud, strong and intelligent emperors. Nowhere could this be clearer than in these seven coins. Carinus rose quickly through the ranks and eventually became emperor during the age of the "soldier emperors". Maximianus who ruled during turbulent times was proclaimed emperor on three separate occasions before he died. Licinius was a victorious "soldier emperor". And, Constantine the Great became the first sole ruler of the Roman Empire and remained as such until his death. These coins exude the dignity, power and cunning of these very important figures. And, is an ideal adornment for an equally powerful individual.
