Music is as Universal as a smile. Ocarinas are musical instruments of the New World. They come in a variety of sizes, producing tones ranging from that of a tenor recorder to that of a shrill whistle. The mouthpiece and the size of the resonance chamber were modified to produce different tones. Embraced by the love that bonds them together, this couple creates a very special ocarina. Ocarinas are found in high-status tombs that lead us to believe that they belonged to important people in society. This also leads us to believe that they were used in a ritual context, not for ordinary usage. Notice how their lips are partially open, as if they were speaking, perhaps confessing their eternal love. This ocarina may have been played during an important marriage ceremony. Her lovely long hair flows down her back, while the rest of her body is nude just like his. Their innocence is revealed in their intertwining legs and arms . . . an innocence and love that has survived the centuries and has immortalized them for us to envy.
