Beautiful in its simplicity, this double cosmetic tube is both intrinsically and aesthetically beautiful. Used to hold kohl – a black substance used as an eyeliner – and the applicator, cosmetic tubes such as this were usually made from glass. As such, it can be determined that this vessel would have once belonged to an aristocratic lady, one who could afford to have such an every day item made from precious silver. The lid has a small looped attachment where string or leather would once have been thread to hang it up.
