The belted tunic and shaven head of this figure may identify him as a priest in an attitude of prayer. Whoever offered this gift to the gods of ancient Iberia wished to gain their perpetual favor and so gave an orant who prays ceaselessly. Though the deities and the donor have long since been forgotten, this little votive has not abandoned his duties in all these centuries.
