Large hemispherical bronze bowl with stylised islamic inscription in kufic engraved above a series of quails in a row. The Ghaznavid Empire was a Khora?anian founded by a dynasty of Turkic mamluk (soldier-slaves) origin, which existed from 975 to 1187. It was centered in Ghazni, a city in present day Afghanistan, and ruled much of Persia, Transoxania, and parts of present day Pakistan.
