This effigy vessel modeled as an armadillo is an outstanding example of Pre-Columbian animal sculpture. The elongated body extends from the pointed snout on one end to the tail that stretches straight out to a diminished point on the other. The saddle-like shell of the back contains intricately incised geometric patterns. The head and tail are similarly decorated. The incised geometric patterns are reminiscent of the Guinea Incised type.
