Oval shaped, this handsome bracelet bends in the middle, with the two ends extending beyond the center. The upper portion is incised to resemble a snake's skin, with a ridged band containing a braided pattern running vertical to the horizontal course of the main ring. Such bracelets as this one were not only used as ornaments, but also as a form of currency. The wearer could therefore be instantly identified as someone of wealth depending upon the number of bracelets they displayed. Aesthetically, its simple but elegant shape offers a continuous flow of movement, interrupted only by the short band, which then sets the eye in motion again, twirling around and around with its own inner force.
