This votive sculpture represents the fertility goddess Astarte. She is characterized by an elongated lower body which slightly flares at the bottom as if to create a base for figure. Around her neck she wears several necklaces that have a series of incised lines which may represent beads. Her small arms are bent inwards towards her chest and appear almost in the form of wings. Her delicate face is characterized by large eyes and a protruding nose but no mouth.
This votive would have been offered centuries ago by some person seeking her favor and protection. We do not know if the goddess granted the wishes of the ancient life, but we can still feel about her a beautiful aura of benevolence and mystery.
