A beautiful illuminated Qur'an, copied by Muhammad Al-helmi Bin Umar, a Pupil of Muhammad Al-najib, dating to AH 1283 / CE 1866-67. This beautiful Ottoman manuscript is realised on cream-coloured paper and counts 303 leaves, with fifteen lines to the page written in naskh script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in red and black. The decoration is enriched with illuminated markers of different shapes between verses, inner margins ruled in gold, catchwords, illuminated devices in wide outer borders, illuminated panels between suras left blank. There is also one illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold. Original binding in brown morocco gilt, with flap and doublures of marbled paper.
