This genuine Medieval Indian gold coin has been set in a modern 18 karat gold ring.

Religious themes predominate in Indian art. On this fascinating coin we see two seated deities representing Shiva and his wife Parvati whose union was said to be "like a word and its meaning." The reverse features a Kannada language legend written in three lines, possibly reading "Sri Pratapa Harihara."
